The 6th Annual Lighted Christmas Parade
Shouts and cries of glee will be heard all over the City of Alamo on Saturday, December 12th. Alamo invites its citizens and residents of the Rio Grande Valley out to its 6th Annual Lighted Christmas Parade and Lighting of the Downtown Tree.
The holiday celebration will begin with a parade and end with festivities in Central Park.
Don’t Miss the Parade!
The Christmas Parade will begin at 6:00 PM at the H-E-B parking lot located at 1211 E. Frontage Road. Spectators can expect to enjoy the parade as it makes its way down Alamo Road to Central Park. Local schools and organizations will participate in the parade and guests are encouraged to bring portable seating so everyone is comfortable! The parade will make its way towards Central Park where the Lighting Ceremony will begin at 7:00 PM.
A Lighting Extravaganza
Once at Central Park, guests will be greeted with a grand site! Aromas from different food vendors can be expected to float in the wind, enticing those with growling stomachs. But, it’ll have to wait! The lighting of the downtown tree will begin promptly at 7:00 PM. After guests gather to view the magical sight of a Christmas tree coming to life in front of the people of Alamo, live music will put visitors in even more of a holiday mood!
School choirs, choruses and bands will be at the lighting ceremony providing an ambiance for Alamo residents. Other groups such as school folklorico will also be present to perform numbers for the event. Local food and drink vendors will be present with hot eats and warm beverages for guests wishing to stay warm!
Come join the City of Alamo for its Christmas in Central Park celebration! A fun time is sure to be had by all.
