Based out of Freer, Texas, Freedom Bank opened its latest branch on January 25, 2021, on Alamo Rd. and Expressway 83 with a commitment to serve local citizens and businesses of Alamo and Hidalgo County.

Why Open a Branch in Alamo?

Freedom Bank’s Chairman and CEO, Art Ortega, explains the opportunity his bank had in Alamo. “After finding out the previous bank would be shutting down, this presented a tremendous opportunity for us to help the people of Alamo with banking services and help serve local businesses, the community, and the citizens. Then, we had discussions with the leadership of the city, the mayor, and the commission, and decided Alamo would be the site for the newest branch.”

How Has Alamo Helped Freedom Bank?

Mr. Ortega illustrates Freedom Bank’s relationship with Alamo. “The City of Alamo has been great to us. They introduced us and made us a part of the city with the Chamber and embraced us. The city’s leadership has been wonderful and made us feel like we belong here, and I have been very impressed.”

Would You Recommend Alamo?

“I would definitely ask business owners and entrepreneurs to consider Alamo,” says Mr. Ortega. “My feeling is that Alamo represents a location central to Hidalgo County. Freedom Bank’s immediate target market is the county, and we feel that being in Alamo means being centrally located in the region. So, businesses looking to be centrally located in Hidalgo County should know that Alamo offers that advantage.”
