Request for Qualifications for Legal Services
The Alamo Economic Development Corporation (AEDC) is requesting statements of qualifications and related proposals for legal services. AEDC is a 4B/Type B Corporation formed under the Texas Development Corporation Act of 1979, as amended. The purpose of the AEDC is to use economic development resources to encourage and promote the general economic welfare of the City, its residents and businesses as authorized by the Texas Local Government Code.
The affairs of the AEDC are governed by the Board of Directors, appointed by the City Commission of the City of Alamo, and subject to its Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws. The AEDC is funded by ½ cent sales tax reimbursed to the City from the State Comptroller.
Purpose of this RFQ
The AEDC is soliciting statements of qualifications from attorneys with experience in Texas municipal law and/or the Development Corporation Act of 1979, as amended. The AEDC requires legal counsel to enable the AEDC to execute its duties consistent with all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations. Statement of qualification may be submitted in person, by delivery or mail on or before 4:30 CST on June 3, 2016 to Rafael Tapia, Executive Director (No faxes, please). Statement of Qualifications and proposals received after that date and time will not be accepted or considered. The sealed envelope must clearly state that it is a Statement of Qualifications / Proposal for Economic Development Legal Services.
