Memory Lane Resale Shop & Boutique is a mother-daughter-run business that re-opened in Alamo in January 2021. Memory Lane is considered a ‘sip n shop,’ where customers can order coffee from The Perfect Blend Coffee & Co. counter as they shop vintage items and artisan products curated by owner Cristina Fuentes.

“We are Memory Lane, and we [have] several little businesses inside,” explained owner Cristina Fuentes about her business. Memory Lane houses smaller shops inside the same building, such as Glitzy Things Boutique and The K&J Closet. Memory Lane offers curbside and usually has sales on the last Saturday of the month. Memory Lane also visits local markets every last Saturday of the month to sell their artisan goods.

“We make it fun, whether it’s with the coffee or with the shop,” Fuentes continues, “It’s all about helping each other out and enjoying each other’s company.” She welcomes everyone to shop here and enjoy a sip of coffee from The Perfect Blend Coffee & Co.

The Perfect Blend Coffee & Co. is owned by Fuentes’ daughter, Alandra Torres. “We named the coffee shop The Perfect Blend because it was a mix of all of us together,” Fuentes said.

“I love coffee. I’ve been drinking coffee since high school,” said Torres. She expressed how she loves to “make a personal connection with people” by crafting the Surprise Me drink. “I just ask your preference, and if you like sweet or more of a coffee flavor,” she explained, “then I come up with something, and if you like it, I’ll remember you.”

Customers can also pre-order drinks for the week. Their special offers five coffees for $18, served or delivered Monday through Friday. Alamo residents can enjoy finding specials like this when they shop locally.

A New Opportunity

“We really, really, like Alamo,” Fuentes said, “We didn’t know how friendly the community was going to be.” She describes how the chamber and city helped them obtain their place of business, adding that the firemen kindly helped them with inspections. “It’s all around a good feel.” Torres also said, “We encourage small businesses if they were to get a location… to come somewhere local, in Alamo,” Torres stated, “We would like people to get the same help that we do.”
