Why Open a Convenience Store in Alamo?
Abraham Philipose was driving on FM 495 when he noticed a commercial property for sale in Alamo. Mr. Philipose contacted the City of Alamo about opening a business. Since opening, the business has been doing well and has plans to add gasoline pumps soon.
How Did the Alamo EDC Help?
When Mr. Philipose contacted the city, city officials redirected him to the Alamo EDC.
Mr. Philipose said, “It was simple. I went to the Alamo EDC’s office, told them my plans, and they wanted to help.” Mr. Philipose applied and was approved for the Revolving Loan Program. He was awarded a $75,000 loan with a 4% interest rate on a three-year note.
He recommends Alamo to all business owners.
“The support from the City of Alamo and the Alamo EDC has been remarkable. Their support is what’s attracted me to opening a business in Alamo. I think and hope any business in Alamo will be very successful and the city is always there for support.”
